Integrating your Square account with your Etsy shop can streamline the sales process and improve efficiency. It also allows you to keep all of your inventory and sales in one place if you are using both platforms in your business.
In this step-by-step guide, we will go through the steps of seamlessly connecting Squareand Etsy; this is available for US, UK, Canada, and Australia-based stores currently on the Etsy platform.
If you’ve never tried out Square previously, you’ll have to set up an account.
Why Connect Square and Etsy?
In connecting your Etsy Shop to Square, you are able to take payments in person using the Square card reader and keep track of your inventory. This helps you connect with buyers and extends your reach for sales outside of the platform without leaving the platform.
This connection is currently only from Etsy to Square; the inventory will be updated on your Square store when items are sold online but not updated on Etsy when you sell products from your Square store.
At the moment, Square is only compatible with goods for sale on Etsy. Digital products are not supported yet.
Etsy Pricing with Square Integration
When you sell items through Square that are synced with your Etsy products, Etsy won’t charge you any fees except for the $ 20 auto-renewal listing fee that applies to all Etsy listings.
When you make a sale on Square for items that are not linked to the Etsys platform, you will incur a transaction fee of $20 cents. It will be displayed in your sales records as a “Square fee.”
