Day 2: Lock it Down

  • Implement backups.

Day 3: Theme and Branding Day

• Objective: Customize your site to reflect your brand.
• Activities:
  • Install and customize the Astra theme.
  • Add brand elements and site settings.

Day 4: Content Building

• Objective: Create essential site content.
• Activities:
  • Build your homepage and essential pages.
  • Publish your first blog post to learn the process.

Day 5: Preparing for Launch

• Objective: Finalize and launch your site.
• Activities:
  • Conduct a site review.
  • Use Google Search Console to have Google crawl your site.
  • Set up Google Analytics for tracking.
  • Add tracking pixels for Facebook 

Plus: Daily Live Sessions

Each day includes a 1-hour live session, offering:

This group live session will allow you to share your screen and ask the needed questions!

We focus on security, optimization, and organic SEO to help build traffic through search engines like Google, Bing, and Yahoo. You’ll learn how to:

• UpdraftPlus: This is for backups and other optimization pieces.
• Google Site Kit: This is for analytics and insights straight from Google.
• Squirrly SEO: This is for easy keyword research and SEO optimization for direct implementation.

All the essential tools and plugins help you easily manage your website and do bulk maintenance for you, which is a plus. These are all plugins that we use on a daily basis, and some have been used for the last 10 years as a website developer, so they are tried and proven assets to any business type.

How will content be accessible during the challenge?

Our challenge offers:

• Video and audio lessons: Clear, concise tutorials.
• PDF step-by-step guides: Easy-to-follow instructions.

Each day has a set of self-paced modules that should be completed by the time of the live stream so that any questions you have can be answered. All tasks should be completed by the end of the day to keep up with the flow of the challenge; if at any time you run into issues outside of the live help, you will also have access to the challenge live chat messaging to send questions.

How much will I need to spend to launch my WordPress site?

The challenge is $27 for the August start challenge. The only other mandatory expenses are the cost of your hosting provider and domain. All other tools/ plugins/themes we use in this challenge have free plans (not trials), and when you are ready to upgrade to any of the paid plans for the tools we use, you are free to do so.

• Hosting- between $30-60 for the first year
• Domain- Free with hosting or $12.00 w/ privacy on Name.com
• Branded Email address – $2.50/month
• Astra theme- Free or $70/ year for the pro features
